The Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts recently convened a crucial planning meeting with various sports federations to strategize for the upcoming Ghana 2023 All Africa Games. During this pivotal meeting, Kangwa Chileshe, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts, emphasized the importance of timely preparation. He urged the associations to ensure that their respective teams enter training camps promptly, setting the stage for impressive performances at the tournament. Mr. Chileshe also encouraged the teams to cast a wide net across the nation in their quest to identify talented athletes who will represent Zambia in these games, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the country's medal count. The meeting boasted a distinguished roster of attendees, including Ministry officials such as Acting Director of Sport Mr. Gibson Muyaule, Chief Sports Development Officer Wesley Chikwamu, and Chief de Mission Mable Beene Nedziwe. This collaborative effort extended beyond the Ministry, as delegates from a multitude of sports bodies joined the discussion. The list of participants encompassed representatives from NOCZ, Cycling Association of Zambia, Zambia Hockey Association, Zambia Basketball Federation, Zambia Table Tennis Association, Chess Federation of Zambia, Handball Association of Zambia, Zambia Tennis Association, Zambia Squash, Zambia Boxing Federation, Netball Association of Zambia, Zambia Martial Arts, FAZ, Zambia Volleyball Association, and Badminton Zambia. The countdown has begun, with the Ghana 2023 All Africa Games slated to kick off on 8th March and conclude on 23rd March 2024. Anticipation is building as Zambia gears up to showcase its sporting prowess on the continental stage.
