Hon. Elvis Nkandu, the Minister of Youth, Sport, and Art, passionately called upon the corporate sector to play a pivotal role in situations where governments lack the capacity to provide essential funding for sports initiatives. His impassioned plea resonates with the need for business entities to step up and contribute to the nurturing of talent and the advancement of athletics. His message emphasizes the potential for business houses to harness the influence and appeal of exceptional athletes like Chinyemba as goodwill ambassadors, serving not only the cause of sports but also their brand image. Furthermore, Nkandu extends his appeal to sports federations, urging them to diversify their sources of financial support. He highlights the limitations of relying solely on government funding, stressing the importance of these organizations in proactively organizing their resources. "There is no government that can fully support sports; we are always complemented. As you bring your bloated budgets, make sure you also look elsewhere," he said. He concluded by thanking the other participants, saying he believes they still have a chance to qualify. MP
