Miriam Moyo was honored with the esteemed title of Honorary Life Membership by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) during the 2023 CGF General Assembly in Singapore. This recognition reflects her steadfast dedication and remarkable contributions to sports development across the African Region and the Commonwealth Sports Movement. Commencing her involvement in the Commonwealth Sports Movement in 2008, Moyo joined the Sports Committee and later played a crucial role in the success of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games as part of the Games Coordination Committee. Moyo served as CGF Regional Vice President for Africa from 2014 to 2023, showcasing astute leadership. Her commitment to promoting unity, cohesion, and diversity within the African Region has been pivotal in shaping the trajectory of the Commonwealth Sports Movement. NOC/CGA Zambia President Alfred Foloko, present in Singapore, emphasized the importance of preserving family unity, cohesion, diversity, and solidarity within CGA Zambia. The CGF General Assembly marked the transition to a new leadership era, with Chris Jenkins assuming the role of incoming President from Dame Louise Martin, who chose not to seek re-election after two terms. The newly elected Executive Board, including three Vice-Presidents and six Regional Vice-Presidents, brings extensive experience to the fore.
