Prince Mumba, a former Zambian track and field athlete and current president of the Prince Africa Track Foundation, has donated over 50 pairs of shoes to OYDC Zambia for distribution among athletes. Following the donation, Mumba expressed his commitment to collaborate with OYDC Zambia in the future. He said he was pleased to discover the center's plans to revamp kids athletics, emphasizing its strategic location with abundant talent. Mumba said he believes that with proper utilization and support, OYDC Zambia has the potential to nurture young athletes who may become national heroes in various sports disciplines, including athletics. Mumba, known for his specialization in the 800m event and his role as Zambia's flagbearer at the 2012 Summer Olympics, hails from Kitwe, Zambia. Upon receiving the donated shoes, Dr. Fredrick Chitangala, CEO of OYDC Zambia, expressed gratitude to Prince Africa Track Foundation. He revealed that the process of revitalizing kids athletics at OYDC Zambia is in an advanced stage. Dr. Chitangala reaffirmed the center's dedication to ensuring that young athletes can benefit from athletics training as renovations for the track and field progress in collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Dr. Chitangala appealed to others to follow the example of Prince Africa Track Foundation, urging them to consider partnering with OYDC Zambia to contribute to the development of sports in the country, both at the grassroots and elite levels.
