The Government has issued a challenge to Sports Federations and urged them to implement a nationwide talent identification program. This initiative aims to broaden the pool of athletes available for selection. In an interview with ZNBC, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Arts Hon. Elvis Nkandu highlighted the inadequacies in certain sports disciplines due to poor athlete selection despite the country's abundant talent. Hon. Nkandu emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring widespread participation in national sports activities among all Zambians with an emphasis on both talent and merit as key criteria. In a plea to the media, he called for support in promoting lesser-known but highly talented athletes nationwide.
