Zambia Women's Hockey Team Head Coach, Floyd Chomba says the team is ready for the Hockey 5s World Cup in Oman, kicking off on January 24. The team opens Group B against South Africa at Oman Hockey Stadium in Muscat at 06:50 hours Zambian Time, followed by clashes with Ukraine and Australia. Speaking ahead of tomorrow's games, Coach Floyd Chomba expressed confidence in his squad as they take on some of the Worlds best teams. "We had our last training session yesterday Monday and our focus is now entirely on the tournament that kick starts tomorrow with an early morning encounter against South Africa then later in the day against Ukraine but our target is to take each match as it comes," he said. Zambia is among 16 nations in this inaugural event that are aiming for their first World Cup trophy in the new Hockey format. And Midfielder Ireen Muenga expressed confidence and called for support from sponsors and fans as the action unfolds. "We are ready for this tournament because we feel we have prepared so well, the first game is always tricky but we will do our level best to get a positive result which will give us more confidence ahead of the second game against Ukraine," she said.
