Bodybuilders are gearing up for the upcoming second Mr. Mtendere Bodybuilding Championship later this month. Numerous bodybuilders are diligently sculpting their physiques for the event. Defending champion Frederick Phiri expressed his commitment to honing his skills and addressing his weaknesses in preparation for defending his title. Meanwhile, Mudenda Maziya, a first-time competitor, aspires to clinching the men's physique category on his debut. Ackim Sakala, the Mtendere Community Gym Secretary, highlighted that the event serves the purpose of raising awareness among youths about the advantages of sports, ultimately shifting the area's perception away from drug-related issues. Representing one of the sponsors, Tamanya Mwandila from BETIKA, emphasized the importance of other organizations joining hands to support sports at the community level, recognizing it as the breeding ground for grassroots talent.
