The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is delighted by the growing popularity of athletics and its profound impact on the world of sports. Speaking to attendees at the beginning of the 11th International Athletes Forum in Switzerland, IOC President Thomas Bach expressed his immense joy at witnessing a substantial increase in the number of athletes participating in the movement and the high calibre of their influence. Emma Terho, Chairperson of the IOC Athletes Commission, emphasized the significance of the forum as it provides athletes with a crucial platform to voice their concerns and insights for the improvement of the Olympic movement. Meanwhile, Richard Mulenga, Chairperson of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia's Athletes Commission, eagerly anticipates absorbing fresh ideas during the forum's duration, with plans to implement these newfound perspectives upon his return. The forum is scheduled to run from October 1st to 2nd, 2023.
