The National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) has emphasized its dedication to enhancing the effectiveness of affiliated National Sport Federations. In Phase 2 of the National Federation strategic planning project, NOCZ has continued to assist five national sport federations/associations in crafting strategic plans to shape their future. The Zambia Table Tennis Association (ZTTA) has recently joined this transformative journey. NOCZ Secretary General, Boniface Kambikambi, encouraged participants during the planning workshop. The three-day workshop, led by Mwembe Kaona from October 13th to 15th, 2023, at the Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia, fostered discussions and collaborative efforts aimed at shaping ZTTA's strategic direction. Kaona expressed hope that the strategic plan would soon be put into action with NOCZ's support and ZTTA's commitment. ZTTA Vice President, Wisdom Kaunda, emphasized the importance of the plan, which is a requirement by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). He noted that it would provide clear goals, timelines, and an evaluation tool after four years. The workshop drew participants from various regions, representing diverse roles within the sport, which was commended as a key input in formulating an effective strategic plan. The association extended its gratitude to NOCZ for its unwavering support and expertise, marking a pivotal step towards excellence in the world of table tennis.
