The Botswana Table Tennis Association has invited the Zambia Table Tennis Association to the Independence Grand Finale Championships, which will take place at the BNYC Multipurpose Hall in Botswana on the 30th of September 2023. The ZTTA believes that such cross-border collaborations are a testament to the enduring bonds within the table tennis community. The National Team Coach, who has been coaching both the men's and women's teams for about 12 months, said that the players have a lot of talent but are disadvantaged because they do not have the necessary infrastructure. He added that they have been putting in a lot of effort, commitment, and dedication towards the sport, especially at a time when table tennis is not a sought-after sport in many countries. The coach said the team has been practicing for the last 14-15 days in preparation for the upcoming tournament in Botswana, and he is very impressed with the performance, especially from the top three players on both teams. He believes the team will do well in Botswana and win a lot of medals. Additionally, he hopes the support continues so that the team can be sent to next year's World Championships in South Korea.
