Remmy Musonda, the former Zambia National Pool Captain, has called upon all players to maintain focus and discipline as they prepare to represent the country at the upcoming All Africa Pool Association Blackball Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Zambia National Pool Team (men's), currently the African Champions and ranked 2nd in the world of Blackball, is scheduled to depart for South Africa on October 9th, 2023, to defend their title. During his tenure as captain from 2012, Musonda led the team to a historic gold medal victory at the All Africa Games in Malawi in 2012 and a bronze medal in Tanzania in 2014. He has also encouraged the Zambia Pool Union Executive Committee, under the Association President, to continue raising the standards of Cue sport in the country. Musonda has pledged to support the team in person as they showcase their talents and defend the title. He expressed confidence in the selection process, believing it to be based on merit and supported by a capable system, technical committee, and coaching staff.
