Zambian athletics coach, Ntasuwila Namukonda, recently took part in a 5-day residential session of the WISH (Women in Sport High Performance Pathway) program held at the University of Hertfordshire (UH) in the United Kingdom. Running from May 2023 to January 2025, this initiative aims to empower female coaches who exhibit the potential and determination to excel in prominent roles within their respective sports. Chosen as a participant by the International Federation of Athletics (World Athletics), in collaboration with the National Federation of Zambia Athletics and the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), Namukonda's inclusion is a result of her outstanding personal accomplishments, promise, and aspirations. Reflecting on her time at the residential program, Namukonda shared that it was an invaluable experience. The sessions, which covered a range of topics including leadership skills and conflict management, proved to be both enriching and enlightening. She expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the WISH program for granting her this unique opportunity to enhance her coaching expertise and broaden her knowledge. Namukonda's journey as a dedicated coach continues to inspire many within Zambia and beyond, as she not only hones her own skills but also contributes to the advancement of women in sports coaching, paving the way for a more inclusive and diverse athletic community.
