On 14th September 2023, the Men's Rugby 7s team departed for Harare, Zimbabwe, for the Africa Men's 7s Tournament. The Zambia Rugby Union has thanked various stakeholders for offering them financial support for the trip's logistics. "As the Zambia Rugby Union, we would like to extend a special thanks to the following: Mr Nyundo Armitage, Lt. Col Enock Kabaso, and Rowg Trading Limited for their material and financial support, which played a crucial role in preparing our team for this tournament," said the Zambia Rugby Union. ZRU president Chileshe Bweupe has, however, encouraged the team to do their very best to ensure that they make the nation proud. "To our Zambia Men's 7s team, give it your all, believe in yourselves, and remember that you carry the hopes and dreams of an entire nation on your shoulders," said Mr. Bweupe. As part of the 15-man contingent, which splits into two sides, the other group participated in the Zambezi 7s Rugby Challenge last week at the Old Gregorian Rugby Club in Harare, while the other group will be participating in the Zimbabwe Championships scheduled for 15th and 16th September 2023.
