Preparations for the Pre-Olympic Qualifiers are in full swing, with the Men's 7s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament scheduled for September 15th and 16th, just two weeks away. To enhance their readiness, a 15-member contingent, divided into two teams known as Zambia 1 and Zambia 2, will be participating in the Zambezi 7s challenge at the Old Gregorian Rugby Club in Harare. This event features teams from Zambia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. Members of the Zambian Contingent: Israel Kalumba (Red Arrows) Melvin Banda (Lusaka Rugby Club) Alex Mwewa (Red Arrows) Langani Siziba (Buffaloes) Butemwa Koloko (Nkwazi) Chileshe Charles (Buffaloes) Chileshe Mulenga (Red Arrows) Gabriel Mungalaba (Red Arrows) Brian Mbalwe (Red Arrows) Andrew Kapapa (Red Arrows) Lawrence Kaushiku (Red Arrows) Mwale Mulenga (Buffaloes) Caso Chipili (KPF) Miracle Simpasa (Red Arrows) Chisanga Nkhoma (Red Arrows) Andrew Kaminsa (Coach) Fine Chikamba (Interim Team Manager) Following their participation in the Zambezi 7s challenge, the team will return on Monday, take a few days of rest, and then proceed to the final phase of their training camp. The selection of the final 12-man team is set to be announced by September 12th.
