Zambia Pool Union (ZPU) has continued to request that the October Africa Cup be hosted later this year. In May, the ZPU unveiled the provisional squad for the national team, which will play in the next series of matches after conducting trials at Billiards Cafe. In an interview with Zed Sport at Billiards Café in Lusaka, ZPU announced that a total of 30 men and a 25-member squad from 6 provinces in the country have been selected to feature in the national team, which will play in South Africa. ZPU General Secretary, Mr. Tesfa Shinkombwe, said that this year looks very promising for them because it is where our men and women will be going to South Africa to defend the Africa Cup title after winning it in 2022. "The coaches are ready, and they have disclosed that the final list is inclusive, with it being segmented over 5 provinces whose representatives are eager to play for the country," Tesfa said. Afterward, the team will participate in the inaugural Hurley Cup, an international tournament organized by Blackball International. The tournament will feature countries such as the USA, Australia, Uganda, South Africa, and Scotland, among others.
