We extend our best wishes to Team Zambia as they gear up for the much-awaited Chengdu 2021 World University Games in China, taking place from 28 July to 8 August 2023. Originally scheduled for 2021, the games were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making this the 31st edition of the World University Games. With a contingent of 14 athletes and 4 officials, Team Zambia will proudly participate in athletics and badminton events. Despite facing some limitations in sponsorship, the Zambia University Sports Association (ZUSA) remains committed to supporting the athletes. ZUSA's General Secretary, Siyanga Muyundana, expressed gratitude to the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) for contributing USD 2000 towards the trip, supplementing their budget. Muyundana also emphasized the importance of institutions supporting university sports, recognizing that sport has become a means of livelihood for many. He highlighted the need to promote a dual career pathway, ensuring that athletes can excel both academically and athletically. With the backing of NOCZ and the nation's well wishes, Team Zambia sets forth to make its mark on the world stage, aiming for success and glory at the Chengdu 2021 World University Games.
