The Special Olympics Zambia made a remarkable presence yesterday as they joined the thrilling Inter-Company Relay held at the National Heroes Stadium, displaying their incredible abilities. One of the participants, Mart Tembo, who is one of the athletes, disclosed to Zed Sport that it is crucial for differently-abled people to take part in such fun activities and interact with friends and other organizations. "Our extraordinary athletes and dedicated staff members enthusiastically took part in the highly anticipated 2023 Inter-Company Relay organized by Zambia Athletics. It was a day filled with excitement, teamwork, and unforgettable moments," shared the Special Olympics. This year's event, which also served as a fundraiser, stood out as one of the most prominent activities to ever take place, attracting various stakeholders such as ZISC General Insurance, Top Star, Good Times Steel, and NOCZ, among others. The participation of the Special Olympics Zambia in the Inter-Company Relay at OYDC not only showcased their athletic abilities but also served as a powerful demonstration of inclusion and acceptance. By actively involving individuals with different abilities in mainstream sporting events, it promotes a society that celebrates diversity and provides equal opportunities for everyone to thrive.
