The National Olympic Committee of Zambia has continued to join World Athletics Committees to sensitize athletes about anti-doping and banned substances. A doping offense under World Athletics Rules is the use of a forbidden drug or procedure, or the presence of a prohibited substance in an athlete's sample. The basis of anti-doping regulations is fair play and athlete protection. Above all, athletes should be aware of which practices and substances are prohibited. The purpose of these regulations and restrictions is to maintain fairness and safety in sports for all players. Two weeks ago, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced the launch of the Athletes' Anti-Doping Ombuds website. This website is a secure platform that athletes can use to contact the Ombuds, a free, neutral, and confidential resource for athletes with questions or concerns about anti-doping issues. Anna Thorstenson is an anti-doping facilitator who will be interacting with various athletes across the world and offering possible solutions for them to move away from all drugs and substance abuse.
