Honourable Elvis Nkandu has pledged unwavering support to the Zambia Pool Union as they prepare to compete in the All African Pool Association Blackball Championship in South Africa. This commitment was made following the Minister's conversation with Zambia Pool President Maxwell Simukonda and ZPU Secretary General Tesfa Shikombwe. They met at the Midlands Cricket Association Quadrangular Tournament held at Metropolitan Sports Club yesterday. The Minister, while addressing National Sports Council Secretary General Raphael Mulenga and Mr. Malama from the Ministry of Sports, emphasized the importance of ensuring that the defending champions, pool teams, can travel to represent the nation and defend their title. He stated, "As a country, we cannot afford to have our teams miss this opportunity. Let's explore the best ways to support them in their quest to represent our nation and defend the cup." The team is scheduled to participate in the AAPA and the Hawley Cup, both taking place at Montecasino in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 11th October 2023.
