The organizers of the highly anticipated Fred Kapenda Classic competition are earnestly appealing to the corporate sector to join hands and become partners in staging this year's event, scheduled to take place at Hindu Hall on August 26, 2023. Fredrick Simunguzye, the founder and chairperson of the Classic, confirmed in a recent interview that the competition is back on the calendar this year. He also revealed that the budget for this year's event amounts to K235,000. To secure sponsorship, Supplement World has already pledged 50 T-shirts worth K6,000 to be provided to athletes during the competition. However, other companies are yet to confirm their participation and partnership in this exciting sporting event. Simunguzye expressed his delight at having Supplement World as a sponsor, emphasizing their significance as a supplier of supplements to many bodybuilders. Their support is seen as invaluable in bolstering the event and providing vital aid to the athletes. Meanwhile, Enock 'Rambo' Chanda, the reigning champion of the Fred Kapenda Classic, has confidently declared his readiness to defend the title he claimed in 2021. Chanda proudly revealed that he has made considerable improvements to his physique since winning the competition, and he eagerly awaits the challenge from other bodybuilders. "I am training rigorously, and I understand the essence of bodybuilding. I am pushing myself hard, so I see my main competition as myself. There is a vast difference between my previous appearance during the previous Mr. Kapenda and how I look now, and I am certain that I will defend my title. I urge all those aspiring bodybuilders to come and challenge me, as I am fully prepared for them," Chanda confidently said. With the Fred Kapenda Classic promising to be a showcase of extraordinary talent and dedication, the organizers remain optimistic that more sponsors will come forward to support this iconic event in the Zambian sporting calendar.
