The Zambia Pool Union (ZPU) has confirmed its determination to surpass the success of last year's events and achieve even greater accomplishments this October. In an interview with Zed Sport at yesterday's national pool team selection trials held at Billiards Cafe in Lusaka, ZPU General Secretary Tesfa Shinkombwe stated that Zambia's strong performance on the prominent stage last year will make them a prime target for opponents this year. Shinkombwe emphasized the significance of the upcoming All Africa championships, scheduled for next month in South Africa, stating that the Zambian team must showcase their strength and secure the title without any excuses. "While being the holders of last year's title, Zambia will face tough competition in the South African tournament as every participant will be determined to defeat us. However, we are determined to prove them wrong," he said. The Zambia Pool Union is preparing to reveal the final list of players who will comprise the women's squad for the forthcoming South Africa Pool Championship, which is set to take place in South Africa.
