Brian Musonda, the chairman of Diggers Rugby Club, highlights the significance of the upcoming Zambia National Service-sponsored Heroes 7s Rugby tournament, scheduled for September 30th at Kabwe's Broken Hill Sports Centre. In an interview, Musonda emphasized the importance of sevens rugby for Zambia's rugby future and how the timing of the Heroes 7s tournament, a week after the Lusaka Challenge, is perfect for getting players in top shape. He advocates for more 7s tournaments during the off-season and suggests having events every weekend until the season concludes. Musonda also points out the short gap between the Lusaka Challenge and the Green Eagles 7s, which will keep players fit and fresh for these tournaments. "I know it is expensive for the teams that are based in the Copperbelt to travel to the Midlands, but I have hope that they can do their very best to ensure they are in attendance," he added.
