Memory Chaya, affectionately known as "Moo," was born on 25th September 2009. Her passion for the sport has propelled her to become a formidable presence both as a midfielder and striker for the Zambezi Hockey Club. The number 7 on her jersey serves as a symbol of her commitment and dedication to the game. Moo's talent and determination have led her to numerous achievements. Among her notable accomplishments, she boasts three second-runner-up titles in the Teulings Challenge with Zambezi, competing in the Girls' U14 category. Her excellence on the field has not gone unnoticed, as she has been awarded the prestigious Teulings Player of the Year three times and clinched the title of Top Scorer of the Year in the Teulings league on three occasions. Moreover, her skills have shone brightly on the international stage, as she secured a gold medal in the Lusaka Select Schools Tournament held in South Africa while representing Apex Sports Academy. It was in this very tournament that she also earned the title of Player of the Tournament. Moo's journey extends beyond Zambia's borders, as she embarked on a successful tour of Zimbabwe with the Zambia Hockey Select team as part of the developmental series. Her impressive performance has paved the way for her upcoming debut in the Zambia Hockey Women's National Team. She is set to represent her country in the Road to Paris Games, scheduled from 29th October to 5th November 2023, in South Africa.
