Floyd Chomba, the coach of the Zambia women's hockey team, has emphasized the significance of thorough preparations as they gear up for their inaugural participation in the Federation of International Hockey (FIH) 2024 5's tournament, set to take place in Oman. The FIH recently unveiled the tournament draws, placing Zambia in Group B alongside formidable opponents such as Australia, Ukraine, and regional rivals South Africa. The tournament is scheduled for 24th to 27th January, where the top two teams in the group will advance to the knockout stage. In an interview, Chomba expressed his contentment with the draw, considering it fair. However, he stressed that the primary focus should be on the team's preparations. Chomba affirmed that Zambia would not underestimate any of their opponents but rather concentrate on rigorous preparation to deliver a commendable performance in their debut appearance at the Hockey 5's tournament, which marks a pioneering event in the sport.
