Zambia has maintained a fourth place at the Africa Junior Golf Championship in Uganda after posting a score of 477 after two rounds of play at the plush Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa in Kigo. 19th April 2023, the boy's team saw Leonard Chibwe emerge as the best player of the day after he scored five over par 77 as the other players namely Michael Chuma, Fabian Musonda, and Joseph Phiri had mixed results regarding Zambia's overall score. Chuma put up a decent performance that saw him score a five over par 77 to ensure Zambia remains in the hunt for a place at the Toyota World Junior Golf Championship in Japan. Following an imposing round one show on Tuesday, Chibwe showed consistency by carding an inspiring eight over par 80 while Musonda and Phiri had a tough round on the greens after scoring uninspiring scores of 12 over In this tournament, Egypt was second on the log after two rounds second with combined scores of 467 as hosts Uganda occupied third place with 472 to be ahead of Zambia by five points as the top three countries from the 14 competing are assured of qualification to the World Championship.
