Embarking on the road to the U-17 National Team trials, the U-17 Girls Eastern Provincial squad commenced their journey to Lusaka this morning, January 3, 2024 proudly wearing Ally & Sons donated T-shirts. Engaging in a round robin tournament organized by FAZ, the team will vie against other provinces, aiming to secure spots on the national team roster. This FAZ-approved program serves as the pathway to the Under 17 national team, which will face Tanzania in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Provincial FAZ chairperson Chrispin Kamuna saw the girls off, emphasizing, "The choice is yours, girls. Utilize this chance and be the next Copper Queens big star." Understanding the task ahead, the girls aim to deliver performances that secure their spot in the U17 national soccer team. Head coach Jean Phiri, assisted by Allan Pondani Mbewe, leads the team, while provincial FAZ women representative Lillian Vergeer guides the delegation.
