The President of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), Alfred Foloko, and Secretary General Boniface Kambikambi held constructive discussions today with the Zambian Institute of Sport (ZIS) delegation. The ZIS team, led by Chairman Professor Oscar Mwaanga, is keen on professionalizing Zambian sports through educational programs, seeking NOCZ's support in defining standards for sports coaches and administrators. ZIS, accredited by Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) and the National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ), aims to collaborate with NOCZ to enhance sports education. Foloko expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, citing NOCZ's ongoing initiatives to bridge educational gaps in the sports industry. Both parties are exploring the potential for NOCZ to review ZIS's course curriculums and for a formal Memorandum of Understanding, emphasizing ZIS's online certificate programs in Sports Leadership, Exercise and Fitness, Sports Coaching, and Emergency Sports First Aid. The dialogue between NOCZ and ZIS will persist, focusing on advancing the professionalization of Zambian sports through education and collaborative initiatives.
