National sports federations have been encouraged to prioritize the implementation of sports science based on the fact that sport is inherently scientific, and countries that achieve excellence have made substantial investments in research and talent development, along with best practices in sports management. These insights were shared during a recent technical workshop for coaches and technical officials representing national sports federations. The workshop focused on talent identification, anti-doping measures, the protection of sport, and the dissemination of coaching frameworks. The Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts Permanent Secretary, Kangwa Chileshe, said that this approach is instrumental in addressing issues like age fraud and doping, thereby ensuring the integrity and fairness of our sports. He continued by saying that embracing a scientific approach also emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and training for sports technicians, as well as the acquisition of advanced coaching qualifications.
