In anticipation of the upcoming Ghana 2023 All Africa Games, the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts recently organized a crucial planning meeting with various sports federations. The gathering aimed to strategize and prepare effectively for the prestigious event. Kangwa Chileshe, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts, delivered a motivating address during the meeting. He emphasized the significance of timely preparations and urged sports associations to ensure that their respective teams enter training camps promptly. Chileshe's objective is to optimize the chances of achieving remarkable results and securing medals during the tournament. Furthermore, Chileshe encouraged the associations to cast a wide net across the nation while identifying talented athletes who will represent Zambia in the games. This approach is expected to enhance Zambia's competitive edge and medal prospects. The meeting boasted an impressive attendance, featuring notable Ministry officials such as Acting Director of Sport Mr. Gibson Muyaule, Chief Sports Development Officer Wesley Chikwamu, and Chief de Mission Mable Beene Nedziwe. Delegates from various sports associations participated, including representatives from the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), Cycling Association of Zambia, Zambia Hockey Association, Zambia Basketball Federation, Zambia Table Tennis Association, Chess Federation of Zambia, Handball Association of Zambia, Zambia Tennis Association, Zambia Squash, Zambia Boxing Federation, Netball Association of Zambia, Zambia Martial Arts, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), Zambia Volleyball Association, and Badminton Zambia. The Ghana 2023 All Africa Games are scheduled to commence on 8th March and conclude on 23rd March 2024. As preparations intensify, Zambia is determined to make a strong showing and add to its sporting achievements on the continental stage.
