Zambian basketball enthusiasts have raised concerns over an unconfirmed list of new coaches for the Zambia Basketball Association's National Team Structures, which appears to be predominantly composed of men. Some are advocating for a policy within the federation, suggesting that women's teams should always have a female head coach, supported by coaches of any gender. One fan highlighted the complexity of women's needs in the sport, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding. Enthusiasts argue that women should be regarded as collaborators rather than mere beneficiaries within the federation. They have observed that even in regional games, women's participation often takes a backseat. These inequalities are seen as an affront to women's rights to participate fully in all aspects of society. Eneless Musonda expressed the importance of establishing a balanced and inclusive coaching staff that reflects player diversity and fosters a supportive environment for everyone to excel. Musonda also mentioned notable women like Thanzo Msundwe and Pamela, who have made significant contributions and understand the challenges faced from a woman's perspective. Musonda seeks transparency in the criteria used for coach selection. From the unconfirmed list, it has been confirmed that Isaiah Kambidima, Mulonga Mumba, and Jeremiah Chenge will serve as the Zambia National Team Head Coach, 1st Assistant Coach, and 2nd Assistant Coach, respectively.
