The coaches of Zambia's Men's and Women's hockey teams, Elvis Bwalya and Floyd Chomba, have officially unveiled their respective 18-member squads in preparation for the upcoming Africa Hockey Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers scheduled to be held in South Africa next month. Zambia's primary objective is to secure their maiden appearance in the senior Olympics, having previously qualified for the junior Olympics in both 2014 and 2018. The African Hockey Road to Paris 2024 event, encompassing both Men's and Women's categories, will unfold at the University of Pretoria Hockey Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa, spanning from 29th October to 5th November 2023. This competition will feature 8 Men's and 7 Women's teams. In the Men's category, automatic qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics is awarded to the Gold medalists, while the runners-up will need to vie for their spot in the FIH playoffs. Conversely, in the Women's category, only the Gold medalists will secure direct qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The participating teams are: Men: South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Zambia, and Uganda. Women: South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Zambia.
