The Zambian Hockey Women's National Team is currently in discussions with the Netherlands and India to arrange international friendly matches, which will serve as crucial preparations for the upcoming 2024 Hockey 5s World Cup. According to the team manager, Patson Kawewe, these international friendlies are vital for ensuring the team's readiness for the World Cup. Following the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games qualifiers scheduled from 29th October to 5th November 2023, 15 players will be announced shortly after the qualifiers. Kawewe has also appealed to the corporate sector to provide support for the team as they intensify their preparations for the tournament. The inaugural Hockey Fives World Cup is scheduled to take place from 28th January to 27th January 2024, in Muscat, Oman. The team manager's plan is to have the team arrive early to make the best use of the facilities available.
