The defending champions of the Midlands Basketball Association (MBA), Munali SUNS Basketball Team, maintained their dominance in the league by securing an impressive victory. They triumphed over Lusaka City Council Looters with a score of 93-45 during a Week 15 fixture held at the National Sports Development Centre in Lusaka. After facing a setback with a 69-61 loss to Napsa Hurricanes the previous Sunday, Munali SUNS bounced back in style. They currently top the standings with 27 points, sharing the same point total as second-placed Green Buffaloes. However, SUNS hold the advantage with a superior goal aggregate. Napsa Hurricanes, positioned third with 25 points, demonstrated their prowess by defeating Red Arrows with a scoreline of 61-49. Matero Magic holds the fourth spot with 24 points. The Munali SUNS wasted no time in establishing their dominance in the match, taking an early lead thanks to the efforts of Harrison Banda. Their fast-paced passing game left the Looters struggling to keep up, resulting in a 21-11 lead for SUNS after the first quarter. The second quarter continued in a similar fashion, with players like Travis Ndama, Jason Siazilo, Chipo Musongo, and Harrison Banda consistently pressuring the Looters. The first half concluded with Munali SUNS in a commanding position, leading 42-17. As the game progressed, SUNS maintained their momentum, outscoring the Looters 67-30 in the third quarter. In the final quarter, they continued to dominate, ultimately securing a convincing 93-45 victory. Suns' coach, Harry Chansa, expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, particularly their response after the previous loss. He commended their motivation and affirmed their commitment to working towards more victories as the season unfolds. "I am really happy we got back to winning ways against Looters who beat us in the first round. I am elated by the way they played and the score is the icing on the cake. This just shows that the boys used our last loss as motivation. So, we keep working for the wins till the end of the season," Chansa said.
