The first Midlands Cricket Association T20 International Club Tournament, hosted at the Metropolitan Sports Club, concluded with Matadar Cricket Club from India emerging as the champions. The prestigious trophy presentation was conducted by the Honourable Elvis Nkandu, Minister of Youth, Sport, and Arts. Alexandra Cricket Club from Zimbabwe secured the second position, while Midlands A and B claimed the third and fourth places, respectively. Midlands fielded two teams, each consisting of 15 players, totaling 30 participants. Ishmael Matadar, Chairman of Fahad Cricket Club, highlighted the rapid growth of cricket in Zambia and expressed their desire to strengthen ties between India and Zambia. He conveyed his gratitude for the invitation, marking their inaugural visit to Zambia, during a pre-tournament press briefing.
