ZASU swimmers, Jade Phiri and Zach Moyo, along with coach Ian Stephenson, have arrived in Trinidad and Tobago to join Team Zambia for the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, taking place from 4th to 11th August 2023. Historic Moment for Zambia: It is the first time Zambia has entered a youth athlete to compete in the 1500m long-distance running event, providing an opportunity to win a medal at these games. Team Zambia's Delegation: The delegation comprises seven athletes -- Joshua Mpaza, Luyando Gamela, Abraham Kaluba, Gift Puteho, Vanessa Matende, Jade Phiri, and Zach Moyo -- competing in Athletics, Cycling, and Swimming. The team also includes members of the management of the game and their respective coaches. Minister's Encouragement: Honorable Elvis Nkandu, Minister of Youth, Sport, and Arts, encourages the athletes and coaches to view the youth development games as preparation for the Senior Commonwealth Games in the future and embrace the experience.
