The Zambia Women's Hockey Team will be among the 16 teams aiming to win the inaugural tournament and will also unveil the official squad on 15th September 2023. The qualified teams so far are Oman (hosts), Zambia, South Africa, Namibia, the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, Uruguay, the USA, Paraguay, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. The remaining three teams from Asia will qualify through the upcoming Asian Hockey5s qualifiers, which took place from 25th August to 2nd September in Salalah. The Zambia Women's Hockey Team has been drawn in Group B for the 2024 FIH Hockey 5s World Cup, along with Australia, Ukraine, and arch-rivals South Africa. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the last eight knockout stages. The Women's World Cup will be hosted in Oman's capital, Muscat, from 24th to 27th January 2024.
