An Italian-based basketball association, Slums Dunk, has been seen in the past few weeks empowering Copperbelt Basketball groups in coaches' and players' practice sessions, which will yield positive results in the long run. In the same vein, one of the coaches, Sain Xen Mbuzi, has been selected to participate in the Federation of International Basketball Association's (FIBA) Regional Youth Camp, which is currently in progress until 22nd September in Bamako, Mali. Coach Mbuzi has been one of the recipients to receive coach training from Slums Dunk ODV, with other participants being Zambian basketball coach Chiwala, Dennis, and Trizah from the East African games in Rwanda. Coach Chiwala is happy to see basketball grow as a sport in the Copperbelt and recommends more international visits, which he believes can positively groom local people. "We should continue training with international organizations and groups so that we gain exposure and become skilled in various areas of basketball," he disclosed to Zed Sport this afternoon. Coach Chiwala has also thanked Slums Dunk for their continued support in rural areas and also wishes to become like Coach Mbuzi, who is currently in Mali.
