Last Saturday, Green Bison moved to the top of the Midlands B-ball Affiliation Association standings after a hard-fought 83-74 victory over fourth-placed Matero Enchantment at Zamsure Sports Complex in Lusaka. The second quarter was a back-and-forth battle, but Bison came out on top with a 35-30 lead. Bison now has 19 points, one ahead of second-placed Munali Suns, Napsa Tropical Storms, and Matero Enchantment. Bison started the game strong, with Mike Banda and Thomas Mabaso making impressive plays, leading them to win the first quarter 20-18. Enchantment improved in the second quarter with Spocian Ngoma, Choongo Choona, Augustine Kandulu, and David Musonda scoring points for the 10-time national champions. Despite the standout performances of Ngoma and Kandulu in the final quarter, Enchantment fell short as Bison claimed an 83-74 victory. Bison coach Isaiah Kambidima expressed his satisfaction with the win. "Enchantment is not an easy team to beat, so the way we played was excellent. I'm really happy that we won this match and are now at the top of the league table. We will continue to work hard to maintain our winning streak," Kambidima said. The games between Suns and Huskies and University of Zambia Pacers against Matero Champions were not played due to a damaged net at the National Games Development Center in Lusaka. In other games, Typhoons defeated Bulldogs 89-59, moving ahead of Enchantment into third place, while the fifth-placed Red Bolts narrowly defeated Falcons 60-57.
