Malawian women's team head coach Geoffrey Biya has been appointed as the technical advisor by the Zambia Hockey Association (ZHA). He will work alongside the men's national team coach, Elvis Bwalya, and the women's national team coach, Floyed Chomba. The Paris Olympic qualifications are scheduled to begin on 29th October 2023 and conclude on 5th November 2023 at the Tuks Hockey Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa. The association has confirmed that Coach Geoffrey Biya is not a stranger to the national teams, as he previously worked with them from 2015 to 2018. In the men's tournament, Zambia will compete against host South Africa, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, and Ghana. Likewise, the women's national team, also known as the 'Golden Girls', will be up against host South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, and Ghana.
