4th May 2023, Judo Association of Zambia President Alfred Foloko and General Secretary Mabvuto Ng'uni yesterday left for Qatar for a Judo congress. Both the President and General Secretary attended the International Judo Federation Congress which will take place on 4th May 2023 in Doha. Further, the two had a meeting with the International Judo Federation (IJF) for Peace Commission Director and The IJF President Mr Marius Vizer regarding the development of judo in Zambia. IJF pledged to Commit itself to improve and promoting Judo in Zambia via support and ensuring that the country has the necessary Judo facilities needed for the growth of the Sport. To ensure that there is excess growth in Judo, IJF encouraged the Judo Association of Zambia to recruit more Judokas and extend the sport to other parts of the country. After the Congress, the Judo president and the secretary progressed to offer solidarity to Simon Zulu and Steven Mung'andu who were taking part in the ongoing World Judo tournament in Doha. The World Judo Championships competition started on the 7th and will end on the 13th of May, 2023 as Steven and Simon failed to progress to the quarter-finals after being eliminated yesterday.
