The Zambia Hockey Association has announced that Margaret Munthali, a striker for the Zambia Women's National Team, has been ruled out of the upcoming international friendlies against Zimbabwe due to a knee injury sustained during training. Munthali has been a key member of the team and has played a significant role since the 2014 side, which qualified for the Nanjing Youth Olympics. She was also a member of the team that qualified for the 2024 Oman Hockey 5s World Cup. The Association recently unveiled the squads that will compete in the highly anticipated International Test Series against Zimbabwe. The event is scheduled to take place from August 11th to 13th, 2023 at St. Johns Astro Turf in Harare, promising an exhibition of top-level hockey. The test series serves as a preparatory event for the PARIS 2024 Olympic Qualifiers, which are scheduled to be held from October 29th to November 5th, 2023 in Pretoria, South Africa. Best wishes to the Zambian teams, and we hope for a quick recovery for Margaret Munthali.
