Former Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) general secretary Chileshe Bweupe will challenge incumbent president Clement Sinkamba at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) set for 20th May 2023 in Kabwe. According to the validated names, the presidential contest will be a two-horse race while three candidates will vie for the post of vice president currently held by Tom Chani. Chani will face opposition from George Funga and Jeremiah Manda while the position of treasurer is vacant after no nomination was received including from the incumbent George Sichula. The position of general secretary position will be highly contested between incumbent Musunka Silungwe and Cecilia Tresha. Silungwe said the executive committee members were glad that the constitution was followed. "As executive committee members we are glad that the constitution is being followed and everyone has been given a fair opportunity to participate," He said. Seven applications were received for the committee member position that has three slots with Charles Banda seeking re-election. He will face competition from Longa Chikwamo, Fred Lumbesha, Jeff Muwele, former Mufulira Mayor Thomson Ngulube, Tekadele Miamba, and Thengo Ngonde.
