On July 22nd, 2023, the President of the Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU), Chileshe Bweupe, sent a congratulatory message to the Arrows and shared his hope for the next season of the league. The message read as follows: In an exciting culmination of the 2023 National League, Red Arrows Rugby Club emerged as the victorious champions. Congratulations to the team for their outstanding achievement. To the Leopards and all the other National League teams, while luck may not have been on your side this time, do not lose hope. The new season will soon be upon us, offering another opportunity to compete and fight for glory. As we look ahead to the next season, my hope is for a more organized league with minimal issues requiring union intervention. The Constitution and league structures are designed to ensure smooth operations for rugby in Zambia, minimizing the union's involvement in contentious matters such as point allocations and scheduling. However, the changing landscape of the sport necessitates a review of these frameworks. Therefore, as the current season concludes, we embark on the significant task of realigning and rethinking our approach to ensure fairness, impartiality, and efficiency in managing rugby in Zambia. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the fans who passionately supported both National and President's League games throughout this season. Your unwavering support fuels the sport, and I promise you even more thrilling and captivating rugby in the forthcoming season.
