Saturday, 20th May 2023, the Zambia Rugby Union ushered in a new executive who will lead the union for the next incoming 4 years. With the elections being hosted at Nalochi River Park in Kabwe, the new executive has pledged to work under the union's regulations and promised to deliver their best to improve the union. The election which was highly contested saw Cecilia Tresha who was anticipated to be ZRU general secretary being ushered in as General secretary and will be in charge of documenting and information publicity for the union. Louise Chileshe Bweupe was sworn in as ZRU President and said that he is equal to the task of running the union for the next seasons to come. Chileshe Bweupe was the former ZRU General secretary who was appointed in 2021 and served the Union with diligence until the decision of vying for the presidency came in and he contested against Clement Sinkamba. "The ZRU council members know very well what they want, and in doing so I am confident that I have been tested by joining the union when nobody wanted to stay. I am more concerned about Councillors who don't know me and what I stand for." Chileshe said. Jeremiah Manda has been ushered in as Vice President, Longa Chikwamo is the new treasure with Thomson Ngulube, Then go Ngondo, and Charles Banda as Committee members of ZRU.
