A gathering of up to 100 junior tennis talents will vie for recognition as the Love-40 Top Eight Qualifying Tournament commences today at the Mufulira Tennis Club. Over the course of two days, this event will unveil the crème de la crème of junior players, with the top four in each age category progressing to the main event. The much-anticipated Love-40 Top Eight Main Event is scheduled to unfold from 26th to 27th August in Mufulira. The backdrop of enthusiastic competition and young athletes' determination promises an engaging spectacle for all spectators. Reflecting on this initiative, Organising Committee Chairperson Joe Siame Jr expressed their excitement at gathering Zambia's finest junior tennis talents in one place. He emphasized the significance of unity among these athletes, all vying to outshine one another on the court. Siame shared that the South Region had already concluded its qualifying stage at the Lusaka Tennis Club, where clubs including Lusaka, Chilanga, and Kabwe competed. As an integral part of the endeavor, Siame, who also serves as the Zambia Tennis Association (ZTA) General Secretary, extended gratitude to the Love-40 organizers, Ess Bee Sports, and their collaborative partners for their sponsorship of various tournaments across the nation. This support is seen as a driving force to uplift tennis in Zambia. Furthermore, Siame expressed optimism, seeing this partnership as the initial step towards elevating the sport to unprecedented heights in the country.
