MIKA Hotels has come on board to sponsor the seventh edition of the MIKA Tennis Championships with a £500,000 sponsorship deal. The tournament will take place at the Lusaka Tennis Club and has drawn around 120 participants from Zambia and various international locations, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Angola, and Swaziland. This year's tournament has seen increased interest from high-profile players. MIKA Group Companies proprietor, Mulenga Mikalile, expressed delight at the tournament's growth, aiming to revive and expand tennis in Zambia. Zambia's top-seed player, Edgar Kazembe, aims to reclaim the title and compete with foreign players. The tournament is a significant platform for both established players and young talents.
