The Zambia Tennis Association (ZTA) has officially kicked off the Ladies Trials for the highly anticipated All Africa Games Ghana 2024 at Nkana Tennis Club in Kitwe. In a gripping Day 1 spectacle, Margaret Chewe asserted her dominance with impressive victories over Violet Mulenga (6/1, 6/2) and Patricia Sazambile (6/2, 6/1). Meanwhile, Isabel Chisongo triumphed over Margaret Kabanshi with a commanding scoreline of 6-2, 6-4. Despite a tight battle against Margaret Kabanshi resulting in a 5/7, 5/7 loss, Christabel Chisongo made a strong comeback against Patricia Sazambile, clinching a convincing 6/1, 6/0 win. A rain delay temporarily halted the clash between Maggie Mutale and Violet Mulenga, with the match suspended at 6/0, 1/2. These Trials serve as the battlefield for the ladies who are striving to secure their spot and inch closer to representing Zambia at the All Africa Games in Accra, Ghana, scheduled from 8th to 24th March 2024. The Trials promise more riveting action as they unfold, continuing until the 31st of December, 2023.
