The Copper Queens made their debut at the FIFA World Cup and became the first senior Zambia National Team to qualify for the World Cup. The team was knocked out in the group stage due to two losses against tournament powerhouses Spain and Japan, who are far superior to Zambia. However, we can take this as a starting point and build upon it. Having qualified for two consecutive Women's Africa Cup of Nations and representing Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games prior to the monumental World Cup qualification, the Copper Queens can now refocus and concentrate on the upcoming WAFCON and Olympic qualifiers.
