Zambia's fastest man and Commonwealth Medalist, Muzala Samukonga will bring the FNB Botswana grand Pix trophy home after emerging 1st position with a groundbreaking 43.91s finish in the 400m category. The just-ended Botswana grand Pix which took place today at the National Stadium saw the participation of other Commonwealth Athletes such as James Kirani who came out 2nd and raced 44.76s, Botswana's Scotch Leungo ran under 45s for the first time in his career, finishing 3rd in a new personal best of 44.92s. Muzala's 400m men's run has not only broken a Zambian record but has also pushed the champion to 3rd place in Africa with Van Niekerk and Isaac Makwala in first and second place respectively. In a quote on his official Facebook page, Muzala said that he is not competing against anyone but strives to break his former records. "The ultimate victory in competition is derived from the inner satisfaction of knowing that you have done your best and that you have gotten the most out of what you had to give," The Adidas brand Ambassador has said. Samukonga thanked God for the talent given and further applauded everyone for words of encouragement and support.
