Minister of Sports and Arts, Elvis Nkandu, has penned an emotional message to celebrate four athletes who have broken the national record by all qualifying for the Budapest World Athletics Championships in August. The minister wrote: "Good morning, fellow citizens, Zambia will, for the first time in history, have four athletes competing at the Budapest World Athletics Championships. These athletes include Patrick Nyambe, Samukonga Muzala, Niddy Mingilishi in the 400m, and Rhonda Njobvu in the 200m. This is the largest number of athletes from our country to ever qualify for the World Championships. We want to mention that there is no wild card in this configuration. Patrick Nyambe, Niddy Mingilishi, and Rhonda Njobvu have all qualified in their respective races through the World Athletics Rankings. We pledge our full support to these four athletes as they compete at the Budapest World Athletics Championships, which will take place this month. Furthermore, we wish our athletes the very best as they prepare for this competition."
